Combined, in FY 2010, the five actuarial pension systems paid out $10.54 billion in benefit payments and withdrawals which includes loans and refunds to members. This includes, NYCERS - $3.38 billion; TRS - $4.12 billion; BERS - $178.4 million; Police - $1.91 billion; Fire - $954.77 million.
