Why is New York City Economic Development Corp. (EDC) displayed as a vendor in one section of the website and as an Agency in another section of the website?

NYCEDC functions as both an agency and a vendor.

As a vendor, NYCEDC receives payments for work performed on contracts registered with NYC Agencies such as Department of Small Business Services and Department of Parks and Recreation. This information can be found in Checkbook NYC by selecting these Agencies from the ‘Citywide Agencies’ drop down menu or selecting ‘New York City Economic Development Corporation’ from the ‘Vendors’ option within the Smart Search Bar.

As an Agency, NYCEDC sends payments to the prime vendors performing the work defined in the contracts registered with NYC Agencies. To view NYCEDC as an Agency, select ‘Other Government Entities’ from the drop down menu and select New York City Economic Development Corporation
